LEABRAUSUB WROTE: ‘Hard to pick a “formerly” anything b/c I feel so good now. Returned to school, then grad school, then to a professional occupation at 45 after 14 years at home. Making nice money (finally), which is great b/c “things” cost $$. After menopause-am 50 now-lost 38 pounds; I work out; eat healthy; attend lots of rock shows; have co-workers apparently emulating what I have done. Even got a nose piercing. Travel to Key West every Easter week-made it up to 2 stages there the year I turned 50. Happily married soon-to-be 29 years. Just never knew 50 could be so good.

Nice to hear! Despite my share of trials and tribulations in my late 30s and early 40s, now, at 42-plus, I feel like I am finally discovering my “true self.” I still have my issues, but feel the world is my oyster more than ever before.

Keep those options open. I just kept thinking…”OK, the kids are older…I docked my time nurturing…I was the “stone””…but my time came..and it coincided with an early Menopause…period just ended at 46 and a half…dead in the water. That’s when I gained weight. With the help of Curves and their 6-week diet solution class I learned about diet and of course I always worked out…..so the pounds came off. Hair highlights, some botox, shopping sometimes in the Juniors department, harley rides with husband, break away weekends for fun, and we are having a blast. Next month is Rob Zombie concert in Philly.
