LAUREL WROTE: Let me tell you, while some things do deteriorate with age, it isn’t all downhill. I got back in shape a few years ago, I now weigh what I did in high school, and as my 23 year old son said “Wow mom, you’re jacked!” I think that’s a compliment. I’m 45 and in the best shape of my life. I am hot, just not in the same way I was at 20 something. I’m hot to me, which matters more than what someone else thinks. Plus, I feel great.

Well, believe it or not it took til i was 50 that I worked, and worked to get the body to where my rock-n-roll singer son said, “Mom, you have the body of a 50 year-old rock star.” I went through menopause at 46 and started in earnest to really drop pounds and work out first with free weights and then an aerobics class, and to now where I have a personal trainer once a week. Age to me is only a number. I can’t stop. And the attention is what maintains me.
